The H1B visa is a good opportunity for U.S. companies to bring in foreign workers to perform jobs in highly-skilled areas. Over the past couple of years the number of H1B petitions has risen to an all-time high. 233,000 petitions were received for a total of 85,000 visas. This means less than half the applicants were selected in the lottery. The number of petitions is expected to increase even further or at the very least, remain the same in FY2017. Let's ask for an increase in the cap to enable skilled labor to remain in the U.S. A reform is badly needed to accommodate the current demand for skilled labor
