Ever since we were little, we have been told that "if you want a great future with numerous opportunities, then you must obtain a good education." This notion of bettering ourselves through knowledge is true, and in effect, it strengthens our nation as a whole.
However, school districts have cut their budgets, laying off teachers, increasing classroom sizes, and reducing school resources, because government funding has been slashed. Currently, less than 2% of the federal budget goes towards education; over 50% of the federal budget goes towards defense.
As citizens, we demand an education system envied by the world again. Let us ensure a great future for posterity and our nation and reprioritize education: it is the key to success.
