Increase IRA contribution limits to match 401k limits which would mean lower cost retirement plans for IRA participants.

Created by P.E. on July 30, 2013

Currently, IRA contribution limits are considerably lower than 401K making a 401K the preferable retirement savings vehicle except that 401K plans are often more expensive. Some vendors offer IRA plans with no cost to participants. Increasing contribution limits would allow individuals with no 401K plan the option of saving more without adding fees to the cost of their retirement savings. This would also increase the amount of investment in the economy by increasing investment in IRA investment options.
