A petition to make 13 inches the required minimum open space between airline passenger seats.
Deep vein thrombosis is a serious condition that is aggravated by long periods of motionless sitting in one position; as what is experienced in economy air travel. The travelling public who fly are increasing in age, an are more susceptible to DVT. Also increasing is the number of people flying with small children. Parents have a similar need to be able to move about easily while flying with and maintaining control over small children.
In recent years the travelling public has been restricted from placing small bags in the overhead compartment and is instructed by air carriers to place smaller bags 'under' the seat in front of them. This creates a situation where there is even less space.
