According to a new report from the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics, There were 1.2 Million abortions in the year 2008. While it is dangerous to over simplify any situation, One can only hope that if more support had been given to those women, a large majority would not have chosen an abortion.
I propose that the Government increase awareness for adoption, and give better support for adoption and the foster care system so women feel like they have more choices. I also propose that more support be given for maternity health as well to give women more support during and after the pregnancy, both of which are difficult times.
There must be more Bi-partisan support for a middle ground solution to the high Abortion rate. We must stand up for those who don't even have a chance yet.
