The cost of daycare is skyrocketing in the US, but Dependent Care FSA's have not changed to reflect this. We urge the Obama Administration to change Dependent Care FSA regulation to have a maximum that reflects the average daycare costs in the US. We also request that these accounts have a maximum that changes based on the number of children in daycare in the family. The current maximum is $5,000 per year, which rarely pays for a single year of daycare for a single child, let alone multiple children. With the proposed maximum and multiplier change, The maximum should be somewhere around $11,666 (NACCRRA average) per child in daycare.
