Military housing allowance for families with dependents is not sufficient for some areas cost of living expenses. In places such as San Diego, the cost of living is really expensive. Most families that require a 3 or 4 bedroom to accommodate dependents are forced to move in base housing just to afford to live there. Something needs to be done. Military members without dependents are getting just as much for housing allowance. In stateside areas that are expensive to live in, they should consider cost of living allowances (COLA) if they are not willing to increase housing allowance.
