The price and cost of basic commodities such as bread, eggs, and milk have increased every year but the minimum wage has not. General living expenses have increased as well, but the minimum wage has not. Increasing the minimum wage will help millions of suffering Americans who are barely making ends meet even though they work multiple jobs. Minimum wage should be the minimum income required to meet the basic needs of food, water, and shelter for an individual. Many businesses have agreed that the minimum wage needs to increase.
I know the Obama Administration has been pushing for the increase in minimum wage. It is now time to petition Congress and to show how much people really care about this issue. We the People petition Congress to increase the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour.
