There is not a single state in the US where minimum wage is enough to be able to afford the average rent. In many states, you would have to work TWO full time jobs just to be able to manage to pay rent, not to mention that most places have a policy where the rent must make three times the rent in monthly income. Minimum wage should still vary but state to state, but the FEDERAL minimum wage should at least be enough to cover rent in the cheapest state.
