Investment in science, engineering and the will to explore new challenges and opportunities are what drive advancements, both in our lives and the economy. To this end we should be expanding NASAs budget by a factor of two, if not more. To do otherwise we rob this generation of the vision of what could be.
Our commitment real terms is half of what it was two decades ago, and a mere tenth of the Apollo era.
To that end we need to restore our leadership in exploration, science and give this and next generation the vision to strive that we have lost in the current climate. This vision results in scientific advancements, increased opportunity and new technologies.
Don’t leave us following China and Russia as they explore and develop the technologies and vision of tomorrow.
