NASA's budget takes up only one half of one penny on the dollar for every dollar the Federal Government receives in taxes. The full 50 year running budget of NASA is less than what the bank bailout was. We need to change this. We need NASA to be the leader once again. Lead us to Mars. NASA has been the driving force for innovation in technology. There is an asteroid named Apophis. It will come very close to earth in 2029 and if it passes through a certain point in earths gravity it will hit the earth in 2036 off the coast of the USA. The Russians have invited us to participate in an effort to figure out a way to avoid this. Why? It wont hit Russia. USA needs to be that leader. Give them the destination of Mars and the world will watch in awe and the US will celebrate as one when we arrive.
