Increase NASA's funding from .48% of the budget to 1% in order to help create a manned Mars mission by the year 2030

My petition is designed to give NASA the budget that it so desperately needs. NASA's funding has never been lower and if we don't stem these losses now, it may never recover. By setting two major goals of landing on asteroids and sending a manned mission to Mars by 2030, we will once again be unparalleled by any other nation in the field of astronomy and space exploration. Today we can no longer claim to be the international leader in space travel. With the retirement of our shuttle fleet, we don't even maintain any vehicles to send astronauts into outer space. To stay ahead, we must raise the budget for NASA to 1% of our annual spending and we must use that budget towards creating a heavy lift rocket to take us to asteroids and achieve our dream of landing humans on Mars.
