On behalf of the citizens of the United States, we need more representation in government. Since 1911, the citizen population has grown over 300%, but the size of our Legislative branch has remained fixed. Each Representative now has over 700,000 constituents.
This divergence has created a gap in representation that is detrimental to democracy. Individual politicians have gained more power than was intended by our Constitution. Pragmatically, communication between citizens and representatives has degraded to an unacceptable state.
The future of our nation depends on the ability of representatives to carry out the will of the People. We must increase the number of Representatives to better represent all Americans in government.
