Increase the number of Syrian refugees allowed into the US from 10,000 per year to at least 100,000 per year.

Created by T.K. on November 17, 2015

The civil war in Syria has resulted in an estimated 9 million displaced people in Syria. Millions of these displaced have actually left Syria in an attempt to find peace and security.

Because it has always been the policy of the US to accept "the tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free" and because America's role as a refuge for the displaced in the world is part of the fundamental purpose of this country, we call on President Obama and his administration to accept a significantly larger number of Syrian refugees than the 10,000 per year currently planned. Because America is a large and economically strong country, it should accept at least 100,000 Syrian refugees per year.
