Increase the number of weeks Congress must be in session to the same as working people in all other jobs in the USA.

Created by C.P. on August 01, 2014

Not only is our Congress dysfunctional, even if it were functioning, members work in session (2013) for only 126 days..."leaving 239 days off. This includes virtually the whole month of August, two weeks around Easter/Passover, not a single five-day work week and (God forbid) no weekends." (huff.to/1pKDFQI )

Outrageous. They say they work in their districts during time off...well, watch my pet pig fly. They don't earn $174,000, they rip us off for $174,000.

These people have jobs that determine our fate as individuals (veterans, children, all of us) and as a nation (education, health, banking, etc). If anything, they should work harder and longer than people do at regular jobs. Members of Congress should be working at least the same number of weeks as the rest of us for that $174,000.
