Increase or create a federal tax on ammunition.

Created by R.S. on January 23, 2013

We hereby request that you solicit Congress to use the Commerce Clause of the Constitution and place a federal tax of no less than $50 on each individual bullet (or other ammunition) that crosses a state border. Also, place the same tax on each gram of gun powder. It should be structured so that each bullet and/or gram of gun powder is taxed at a rate of no less than $50 (automatically adjusted each year for inflation/deflation). We also request the ATF to update ammunition manufacture’s licenses. As each ammunition manufacture’s federal license to make ammunition comes up for renewal, add a clause that says that each bullet they make that does not cross a state border shall have a license fee of the same rate as the cross state border tax. Taxes divided 33% DOE, 17% DOJ, 25% Medicare.
