Currently the telecommunication industry is allowed to do as they please and run rampant with little to no oversight or accountability. One of the largest issues is there ability to force consumers into extended contracts. Then changing these contracts as they see fit and burying the changes with junk mail and fine print until a predetermined window expires. If you do not respond then inherently you agree to the new terms. These are shady corrupt moves that lock hardworking honest Americans into long contracts that cant be canceled due to high cancellation fees and/or collections. We, the consumers, like to correct these issues by imposing oversight and the monitoring by the FCC of all telecom companies as it pertains to contracts and transparency in prices vs services provided.
