Increase paid maternity leave from 3 months for a minimum of 6 months in all U.S.

Created by A.K. on May 02, 2014

“New parents in the U.S. are guaranteed their jobs for 12 weeks after the arrival of a new baby, thanks to the Family Medical Leave Act of 1993...”

The question here is not only if new mothers have paid maternity leave, but if 12 weeks is time enough to breastfeed your child – if it’s your choice - or simply adjust your routine to a new creature that just arrived in your life.

After 12-week, new mothers must go back to work, otherwise they are at the risk to lose their jobs. But they fell guilty in both ways: not having enough time to take care of their child and have to giving up their carries to spend at least 6 months with their babies.

Please, sign the petition and let’s change the reality in US. All industrialized nations have different realities. Why not us?
