increase the pay of our United States military and veterans so that they don't need to rely on food stamps.

I was disgusted to learn over $87 million in food stamps are redeemed at military commissaries. The men and women who defend or have defended our country should not have to suffer the humiliation of using public assistance just to survive. We need to cut spending on projects that develop new weaponry and divert that money to pay a living wage to our military and veterans. We also need to make sure that when the government is shut down that military pay is not withheld.
