Social Security benefits are funded by taxes imposed on wages of employees and self-employed persons. There should be an increasing percentage with a increasing income base. The social security cap should be eliminated at $110,000 and continue up the ladder.
Millions of Americans rely on Social Security and Medicare for income and for health care, and millions more will do so in the future. If this cap is not eliminated the fund will be exhausted by 2035.
People pay into this fund their whole lives while working hard and deserve a return on their investment.
