Since moral reasons aren't always enough, how could accepting Syrian refugees benefit America?
-Syrian refugees do not pose a security threat. The US refugee policy is very thorough and a terrorist could get into the country much easier a different way.
-Accepting Syrian refugees would help fight ISIS. By accepting Syrian refugees, we would be destroying ISIS's recruitment base and countering ISIS narratives.
-Accepting Syrian refugees would boost the economy. Syrian refugees would increase the country's GDP and would push native workers into more skilled, higher paying jobs.
Since 2013, the UN referred about 25,000 refugees to the US but the US only plans to admit 10,000. The US should accept all Syrian refugees referred by the UN.
