Although music streaming services like Spotify or Pandora allow the consumer to listen to an array of music for little to no cost, they have been neglecting to pay sufficient royalties towards the artists. In order to make minimum wage off of a music streaming program, an artist would need to have a song played 7700 times a day. Although this is not an issue for popular artists, it is not enough to help lesser known artists make profit from their music. With such low paychecks from these sites, many musicians are becoming discouraged that they cannot make it in the industry. This lack of faith is costing the industry many record sales and many jobs. This is preventing the music industry to flourish as it has in the past. Thank you.
