Columbine High School, Virginia Tech and Sandy Hook Elementary School all fell victims to society's failure of providing safe and secure places to educate American students. In the majority of schools in the US, anyone can walk in unchecked, even bearing arms.
It is time for us to increase the level of security in all schools, not only in those that have been attacked but in all schools in order to prevent mass shootings.
Several steps can be taken to ensure that our children are safe while getting their education
1-Closed campuses that don't allow anyone to get through unchecked
2- More police and security officers on site to fend off attackers.
3- Metal detectors in all school entrances without any exception, regardless of neighborhood.
Prevention is better than cure.
