Increase signage around all state parks to help reduce the risk of Nissan trucks submerging into state lakes.

Created by H.C. on August 27, 2013

The Brent H. Meter Act would help to increase signage and warning signals near all state lakes to work towards protecting drivers from ending up in precarious situations involving a large body of water.

In August of 2008, a tragic accident occurred at Clinton Lake State Park near Lawrence, Kansas, which nearly cost us the life of our dear friend. As fate would have it, during a torrential downpour that seemingly came out of nowhere, our friend turned the wrong way down a boat ramp and ended up with lake water engulfing his vehicle. Threw the sheer grace of our Heavenly Father, he was able to swim to safety.

Had there been improved and proper signage in the area, this almost fatal accident could have been avoided. Please join the fight today to keep this from happening to anyone else.
