Increase signatures and moderate petitions

I am starting this in hopes that people will see and understand what I am conveying. Popular social networking users often use this website as a joke and due to their popularity it can push down the real issues that need focus. While I do realize people have the right to create petitions, there needs to be a limit on what is passed off as a legitimate petition i.e. concern. I believe petitions should be made only in accordance to this website and real issues concerning and affecting people. Not to be used to make a joke. I believe more moderating is needed and we should increase the signatures, while I disagree with that, it may be one of the only ways to get people to realize this site should not be used as a joke.
