As technology develops, the performance of motor vehicles is becoming higher than ever before. However, in most states, the outdated speed limit laws are still in effect, which enforce the speed limit up to 80 mph (in most cases 65, or even slower). As a fact, lots of drivers across this country are violating the speed limit while they are driving on the freeways, simply because we can drive faster than the speed limit without impacting public safety and/or our own safety. On the other side, traffic police is not capable of strict enforcement of the current law, as they cannot pull over every single vehicle which is violating the speed limit. This is unfair, and already shows that the current speed limit laws are no longer fully effective. We urge the government to raise the speed limit.
