Increase the rural speed limits on interstates and toll roads in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, Kentucky, and Mississippi to 75 or 80 mph.

Speed limits in Texas have been as high as 80 since 2006 and as of September 1 can be posted as high as 85. The United Kingdom will have 80 mph speed limits in January of 2013. Germany has no speed limits whatsoever. France, Italy, and the Netherlands all have 81 mph (130 km / h). Texas and all of these European nations have populations significantly greater than these southeastern states (with the exception of Florida being slightly larger than the Netherlands).
