We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Increase the standards for operating motor vehicles on the road.

Created by W.P. on October 24, 2016

The minimum requirements for operating motor vehicles in the U.S. needs to be increased dramatically. People who do not possess the mechanical aptitude to operate a motor vehicle should not be granted the privilege of obtaining a driver's license. This should not be viewed as punishment but rather as an acceptance of one's limitations. Far too many people are injured and killed on the road every day due to incompetent drivers who do not possess the mental abilities needed to dynamically assess and react to constantly changing events on the road. Our social dependence of motor vehicles in conjunction with the big business associated with the mass sales of motor vehicles should not be a used as a crutch to allow innocent people to be put in constant danger on the road.
