Nuclear Energy is the cheapest and least environmentally impacting means of producing reliable energy. There has never been a report of permanent lasting damage (to the environment) caused by any nuclear accident, here or abroad. The current nuclear reactors in the United States have become far outdated, some dangerously so because of the American public's view of nuclear energy. After the reactors currently slated to be built have been, there are no more that have been approved. We have fallen far behind in technology, both in preparedness and use in terms of nuclear energy. The bans and restrictions placed on the nuclear energy community have stifled its growth, and lead to many misconceptions and misinformation.
