increase the supply of organs for donation by directing the Health and Human Services Dept. to adopt the priority rule.

Created by J.B. on June 15, 2013

An average of 19 Americans a day die waiting for organs and it is one of the easiest problems in the world to fix. Children could retain their own list, but by giving priority to the adults who, at least 3 years before, were registered organ donors we can dramatically raise participation at no cost to anyone living.

A new research paper (http://www.nber.org/digest/dec11/w17324.html) suggests this proposal, already adopted in Singapore and being considered in Israel, could save thousands of lives a year.
