Veterans benefits are helpful and beneficial in many ways to people who have served honorably, and many benefits provided for disabled veterans are not only helpful to the veteran and his or her family, but actually necessary in order for said veteran and his or her family to survive.
Certain benefits, however, are lacking in some regards, and so we, the People, petition this administration to press Congress to improve certain VA benefits as follows:
1) Boost COLA for disability-rated veterans' compensation to a degree greater than 1.7%, when it is projected (source: Forbes) that the average raise in 2013 will be at least 2.9%.
2) Allow VA health care to suffice under Obamacare requirements, or create a VA sponsored opt in system to do so for any rated veteran at any percentage.
