Increase WMATA subway service and create WMATA Board member accountability through public election.

Created by J.H. on July 13, 2012

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Board has voted to lengthen off peak waits for subway trains to 30 minutes and peak train headway to 15 minutes. Board members are appointed and are unable to be held accountable by a frustrated riding public.

The level of service is unbecoming the national capital. The reliability of service is questionable at best. The adherence to any sort of schedule is nonexistent.

We need leadership from the Obama Administration to force significant changes upon the WMATA Board and leadership, the organization of the authority and the level of service. We need you to bring together our state and local officials to fix WMATA.
