Currently a citizen in the USA only needs to work for 40 quarters(10 years) in order to receive full benefits. When the government spends on average $10,000 a year per Medicare recipient this is unacceptable. This is one of the reasons the Medicare system has become unsustainable. It must be changed so that Medicare will be saved for the future hard working generations.
