Indepence for the commonwealth of Puerto Rico

This petition is important due to the fact that puerto Rico is experiencing economic problems many people are leaving the island and going to the usa Puerto Rico can not keep going the way they are now and it would not be good to absorb Puerto Rico into the usa as a state the only way is indepence the problems in Puerto Rico is because of its status. Independence would give Puerto Rico a canvas to solve their debt problems easier the united states turned Puerto Rico into an adult who still lives in his moms house living with her Puerto Rico needs to learn how to survive on its own and no the referendum wont work they didnt even use the results four Years ago. Please help Puerto Rico live on its own help PR become an independent state smoothly its been 100 plus years time for change
