Omar al-Bashir leader of Sudan has an open International Criminal Court indictment and has not been brought to justice. Why is the United States government not assisting in bringing the accused war criminal to international court to face the charges of genocide, five counts of crimes against humanity (murder, extermination, forcible transfer, torture and rape) and two counts of war crimes (pillaging and intentionally directing attacks against civilians)? While attending the funeral of Meles Zenawi in Ethopia our diplomat, Susan Rice, was in the same room with Bashir and no effort to arrest or detain him was made. Bashir is suspected of causing between 250,000 and 500,000 people to die in the Darfur region. I ask again, why no United States effort to bring him to trial?
