In 1989, Congress created the National Film Registry, chosen by the librarian of the Library of Congress. The National Film Registry recognizes films which are "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant." To be eligible, a film must be at least 10 years old.
Every year since 2004, "Pulp Fiction," which was released in 1994 and is undeniably culturally, historically and aesthetically significant, has been nominated for inclusion. Every year, for nine straight years, it has failed to be included. We have been informed by the LOC's public contact, Donna Ross, this is a political decision.
We the people request the president use his "bully pulpit" to put politics aside and call for this classic film "Pulp Fiction" to be inducted into the National Film Registry.
