I believe the president needs to inform the american people that the new healthcare law will effectively closes an enormous loophole that the healthcare industry currently enjoys. If the healthcare providers, hospitals, etc.. are no longer able to write off losses for non-payment, they will be forced to pay taxes on all of their income. They effectively use the existing tax law to avoid paying their fair share of income taxes by claiming losses due to treating the uninsured americans and under-insured. They also charge the uninsured people more than double or triple the amount they charge insured individuals with insurance coverage. This allows them to basically write off all of their yearly profits due to treating the uninsured. If allows them to avoid paying their true tax liability.
