People who lie on gun permit applications should be reported to the local law enforcement authorities in the jurisdictions where they reside. Individuals who lie to obtain firearms should be prosecuted locally. The right of Americans to protect themselves shouldn't just be a right to bear arms. Rather, the information already gathered by our government in an effort to preclude the wrong people from purchasing and possessing firearms should be a tool we are also able to call to bear.
The undersigned respectfully request that the United States Government establish a process for informing local law enforcement agencies when an individual within their jurisdiction has lied on a gun permit application.
