I believe that politics these days is sickening. It seems like it is just lobbying for the other party to lose rather than trying to make changes and help the people.
I think one of the largest root causes for this is because people involved in politics are typically very well paid or do it for financial/power motivations rather than a personal drive to help others.
By limiting money made by those people we can ensure that the people who participate are truly interested in helping people not necessarily earning money for themselves or other organizations with their own agendas.
By having politics become just a competition between who does less bad it makes the government weak and pathetic. By having a two party system (generally) it seems everything comes down to who does less bad.
