This petition addresses granting wild animals unconditional safety within the captive areas imposed on them by humans, primarily in zoos and aquariums. These are captive wild animals and humans take inherent risks when placing them in captivity.
If a potentially dangerous situation between a human and the animal ever arises, every effort should be taken to safely remove the person in danger, but not at the cost of the animal's well-being, as long as the animal remains within the captive area that has been assigned to them. Within the captive spaces assigned to them, animals should have protective rights that are equal to or above those of humans. It then becomes the humans job to learn to adequately respect the animal's space.
