Humane treatment for chickens, for the health and welfare of Americans

Each day, thousands of baby chicks in agricultural institutions are determined to be male, and then immediately tossed into grinding machines that crush them and tear them apart, because the farmers do not "have a use for them". Meanwhile, we grow other chickens, using steroids and antibiotics, to become "broiler chickens" to be used in chicken-products, at immense pain and suffering to the animal forced to endure such treatment, and to the consumer, whose faces health risks such as cancer from these products. We ask that farmers be instructed to keep roosters and grow them humanely for consumption, rather than being destroyed at birth, which will keep Americans healthier, cutting healthcare costs for the federal government and local healthcare systems.
