Mandatory labelling of GMO foods is an absolute right of consumers. The FDA is supposed to be a body protecting consumers. Why are they not prepared to allow consumers to make choices. No matter what they may believe about GMO foods not being bad for human health or environment, if consumers disagree and want to be informed about what is within their foods, this is a SELF EVIDENT RIGHT. The trends are more transparency, to let consumers know if their food is gluten free or organic, etc. Why should this be the exception. What sort of interest groups are being protected by this? Surely not the American consumer. I am appalled. As a long time organic consumer, I would NEVER vote for any one who did not support this.
