The Middle East conflict has dragged on for decades. Israel has the strong position: it controls the Palestinian population, collects their taxes, determines where they can travel and live, and it has complete military domination over the Palestinian population. Israel continues to expand settlements in the West Bank, and it continues to take over Arab areas of Jerusalem, often kicking Palestinians out of homes they've had for generations. Israel's strategy has become one of stall and build, taking ever more land. All of the world, except the U.S. and Israel, regard this expansion of Israel as illegal. The U.S. must make continued aid to Israel dependent on a complete freeze of settlements and expansion in Jerusalem. It's the only way for us to become an honest broker of the negotiations
