American politicians have lost sight of who they represent. I strongly believe that Congress, just like the House and the President, should have a term limit. This will cut down on lifetime politicians who listen more to boosters and interest groups as opposed to the American people.
Here is what I propose:
An individual who is elected to congress will serve a 6 year term and can only serve 2 terms in a row.
This is so that politicians can have a chance to make a difference and see results for the policy they work on. As a result my hope is that the American people will actually vote for politicians that want to make a difference and that politicians will listen to the people they are representing and make them their focus again.
