Allowing teachers or other school officials to carry firearms can not guarantee that the weapons will be always available or even used safely. However, bulletproof doors, windows and other safety measures are always available, even when personnel trained in the use of firearms are not.
Nothing will prevent another mass school shooting. However, remaining behind a locked bulletproof door is safer than standing behind a teacher with a gun.
