Workplace Charging Challenge: Install Stations at the 847,000 Government Locations & Allow Employee Use

Created by R.F. on November 13, 2015

The Administrations Workplace Charging Challenge(WCC) is admirable! Results: 150 partners, 300 locations, 4000 stations. However, only (1) Federal Agency (DOT) is identified as a partner on WCC with 1 location listed. Why isn't the government setting the example for WCC?

According to the CATO institute, the government owns and leases 847,000 buildings, structures & parking lots. Please issue an executive order requiring all agencies 1) partner & report Electric Vehicle charge(EVC) stations to WCC, 2) expedite installation of EVC's at Federal locations, 3) allow use of installed EVC's when not in use on Federal properties for employee use, and 4) make charging free if possible. NOTE: 80% of WCC Partners didn't charge a fee! As the WCC report shows free increases the # of participants.
