How is it that banks maintain fireproof, bullet proof vaults to protect valuables and money? Should we not have the same protection for our children in schools? Aren't our children much more valuable to us? It is REQUIRED that establishments have emergency exits in the case of fire or disaster. Why not have an emergency "entrance" to a vault or safe room in each classroom and other areas that is impossible to get in to once closed, bullet and fire proof? Our children are told to remain quiet, stay put and get away from windows and doors. This is a very unreasonable measure considering the circumstances surrounding Friday's tragic school shooting in CT. We NEED an impenetrable place for our children to remain safe and OUT of harms way. Please sign this petition!
