Putting solar panels on the white house and tripling the national funding for renewables are good, but should have been done 20 years ago and now are not nearly enough to make a dent in our collective pollution problem. We must embrace a sense of urgency equal to the challenges we face to initiate sweeping changes toward an economy based on renewable energy rather than polluting sources. Announce an ambitious program to put a solar array on every single home in America in 5 years. At approximately 120 million homes, that comes out to about 1315 solar installations per state per day. If there are not enough solar installers, train our veterans in solar installation and let their skills and commitment to America be put to use toward a positive future.
