All-weather turf fields are a great source of encouragement for physical activity. Some high schools across the country are blessed to have a turf field, while most others have a grass field that the school athletic directors prohibit from recreational use. This hurts the club teams, high school teams, and health of the communities that lack an all-weather turf field. The Obama administration should look into financing turf fields at all public high schools to promote a more active community and ensure equality in terms of practice and playing conditions for all sports teams across the nation. In addition to promoting an active community, turf fields also have a low maintenance cost which could prove them more cost effective than grass fields.
