Health insurance is an expansive issue in our society. The cost of health care necessitates health insurance for most people. However, not enough public information is available to evaluate health insurance as a factor in health care cost.
Health Insurance companies should be required to extensively report their operating practices including actuarial basis of coverage cost, claims processes and profit strategies.
Whatever competitive disadvantage this may entail for the companies themselves is of fundamentally smaller magnitude than the benefit to the public.
